The Story
Our undying love for reviving traditional Indian jewelry forms shines through this simple beauty - our Padmini Choker speaks volumes about how jewelry is art and holds cultural and regional historical value. Traditionally known as the Thussi, this choker was worn by Maharashtrian brides, handed down through generations influenced by the jewelry styles of Kolhapur. Strung on a red cotton base to form a close-packed structure of gold units, the choker holds a beautiful central peacock pendant with blue meenakari/enameling and is set with polki/uncut diamonds around it, with a chaand/crescent motif polki unit on either side, embellished with green and blue accents. The choker is dressed with gold pellets throughout that move gently, whispering tales of Indian heritage.
